Molly Hooper is not the weak one here, it’s Sherlock
 (Sherlock meta by rainmyselfinharmony)

Whenever I watch Sherlock and Molly scenes from A Scandal in Belgravia, The Empty Hearse and The Final Problem (and even the ones from His Last Vow and The Lying Detective), I get this feeling that Sherlock can’t really believe someone with a heart so pure like Molly Hooper could actually be in love with someone like him.

“After all, not all the men you fall for can turn out to be sociopaths.”

“I hope you’ll be very happy, Molly Hooper. You deserve it.”

“So who loves you? I’m assuming it’s not a long list.”

The depth of Molly’s feelings for him surprises Sherlock. It confuses him. Scares and amazes him at the same time.

“All those complicated little emotions, I lost count.”

His facial expressions in the Christmas scene from A Scandal in Belgravia and the ILY scene say it all. Molly really punctures his protective shell. But he doesn’t think he is worthy of her love.

Molly Hooper is not the weak one here. It’s Sherlock.
